3. If applicable, what was your experience of using the CDISC discussion forum?

Posted several questions, but never received any reply. Stopped using it as I could not rely on getting any response, or being sure that the responses I could find there from previous posts were still current.
 (13%)

Not enough people use it regularly enough to make it a valuable resource for "real time" questions, but it is good to use as a reference
 (13%)

Good idea but CDISC teams need to respond to questions.
 (13%)

I never posted a question myself. When searching the question and answers available I did not find useful information very often. Quite a lot of questions were not answered at all. I did not use the forum recently, maybe it has improved in the meantime.
 (13%)

Can be useful, though difficult to find an answer to specific questions quickly. Generally I don't have time to browse, which is a shame as I am sure there is a lot of useful comments on there.
 (13%)

None, I just learned about it
 (13%)

Pretty good, lots of intelligent discussion of SDTM/CT/CDASH implementation. Tools like this are crucial for realtime feedback on others experiences and interpretations.
 (13%)

 Useful to search for information

 (8%)

I already do but the subject lines that people write could be a bit better (more descriptive or categorized from a pull down).
 (8%)

If I had known about it a year ago I would probably have used it a lot. I have indicated in your first question that I am aware of the forum but this is only due to this questionnaire!

6. Any suggestions on what we as a community could do to get other users to use it constructively?

Provide incentives of some kind initially to get people willing to visit it. Internally at our company we have prize drawings for people who post on our internal forums as a way to encourage them to get used to going there as a resource. Once it was established, we reduced the incentives to randomly scheduled events to keep people coming back. Would also be good to know if it was being administered and that you could rely on responses.

Promote it, and ensure It is kept up to date, so people see it as useful, assign some people to work on certain areas, and have a Q&A section.
 (9%)

I'd like some additional functionality....if you post a discussion topic and someone answers, I''d like the system to send you a mail. People can not check the site frequently and may even forget...a reminder might help them.
 (9%)

Promote it everywhere, at CDISC Interchanges, ESUG meetings etc.
 (9%)

Promote it, e.g. in the CDISC newsletter. People might forget there is useful information available.
 (9%)

Perhaps link to it prominently from your home page, mention it in your blog and Twitter feed more often, and include information about it in the emails you send to those on your mailing list. I think it could be a great resource if more people used it, but at the moment it hasn't quite reached critical mass.
 (9%)

I'm not sure how it works, but if I enter a questions it would be helpfull to get notified when someone has entered additional info to this discussion thread.
 (9%)

Solicit feedback on certain domain (domain class) implementation and future developments from the SDS teams.
 (9%)

You should distribute promotional material to companies for dissemination to their employees. e.g., post-it notes with the web address on it. At one company I worked for there was just one person through whom all questions relating to SDTM had to be channelled and that person's responses were often unhelpful as they didn't always understand the problem. The big companies need to be encouraged to allow their staff to widen their support network to include this forum.
 (9%)

Ensure people are aware of it and are aware of its use -e.g. not having multiple other locations for discussions regarding CDISC - better just to have a central unified location
 (9%)

 Publicize it better.
